Through agreements with One-Stop operators, PPEP provides career counseling services to eligible participants, assisting with finding appropriate training, providing necessary supportive services, developing job placement, and providing follow-up once employed.
PPEP is the Arizona State grantee, designated by the US Department of Labor to operate the National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP). Employment and training services are offered in nine counties across Arizona. NFJP services are for migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their dependents. The program is designed to assist farmworkers in up-grading skills/positions within agricultural or acquire education and/or skills needed to retain employment outside of agriculture.
The HEP program prepares migrant and seasonal farmworkers in Yuma County to obtain their GED certificate, through a 13 week education course. GED Certificates can be obtained in either English or Spanish from the State of Arizona. Day and evening classes are provided in San Luis and Somerton, Arizona.
